Summer tires use a rubber and tread made for warm weather. In the heat they give better grip, braking and steering response on dry and wet roads. They are made for warm roads only: the rubber stiffens in the cold and they are not made for snow or ice.
Many drivers fit summer tires in spring, when daily temperatures stay around 7°C or higher, and switch to winter tires or all-weather tires before the cold. Order early so your tires arrive in time and you can have them fitted.
