Warranty policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
All tires and wheels sold by COCOTIRES are brand new and covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We help you understand your coverage and how to make a claim.
In short: the manufacturer's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. Coverage and length depend on the brand and product. If you think you have a claim, email us with your order number and photos, and we work with the manufacturer for you.
Manufacturer warranty
Tires and wheels carry the manufacturer's standard warranty. Coverage, terms and length vary by brand and product. Please see the papers that come with your order or the manufacturer's website for the details of your product.
COCOTIRES does not give additional warranties beyond those of the manufacturer. We help coordinate warranty claims between you and the manufacturer.
What is usually covered
- Defects in materials and workmanship.
- Premature wear, within the conditions and treadwear limits of the manufacturer.
- Structural defects that affect the safety or performance of the tire.
What is usually not covered
- Damage from road hazards such as nails, potholes and curbs.
- Improper installation or mounting.
- Wrong inflation, over or under inflated.
- Damage from poor alignment or vehicle mechanical problems.
- Use in racing or other competition, and commercial or off-road use unless the manufacturer says it is covered.
- Products that were repaired, painted or changed in any way.
- Corrosion, chemical damage or damage from poor storage.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect performance.
- Installation, removal, balancing and other labour costs.
How to make a warranty claim
- Get ready your order number, the date you bought it, and the brand, model and size. For a tire, find the DOT code on the sidewall.
- Take clear photos or a short video of the problem.
- Email sales@cocotires.ca with all of the above and a description of the problem.
- Our team reviews your claim and works with the manufacturer for you.
- The manufacturer decides if it is covered.
- An approved claim can end in a replacement, a pro-rated credit or a refund, at the manufacturer's decision. A replacement usually carries the rest of the original warranty period.
Claims follow the manufacturer's terms and processing times. We keep you updated during the process.
Road hazard protection
Standard manufacturer warranties do not cover road hazard damage such as punctures, cuts and impact breaks. If this matters to you, ask your tire shop about a road hazard warranty when you have the tires installed.
Tips to protect your warranty
- Have your tires installed by a certified tire technician.
- Keep the pressure your vehicle manufacturer recommends.
- Rotate your tires every 8,000 to 12,000 km.
- Keep your wheels aligned and balanced.
- Keep your order confirmation as proof of purchase.
- Do not load your vehicle beyond the load capacity of the tires.
Installation
COCOTIRES is an online store and does not install tires. For a valid warranty claim, manufacturers usually ask for proof of professional installation. We strongly recommend installation and servicing by a certified technician.
Returns are different
A warranty claim is not a return. For unused items you want to send back, see our Return policy.
